Around Kisampa

This is Sarah and I on a game drive the other morning. We did the "long loop" around Kisampa, ending at the river for a swim. We saw some interesting tracks, birds, and bones.

This little bird was just sitting in the bush! It's parents had flown away when they sensed us coming, but the bird was too small to fly, so it just laid very, very still. We got close enough to take photos, but didn't touch the bird so that its parents would still come back for it. There were 2 of them.

This is an example of the black and white colobus monkeys that are all over Kisampa. They are pretty skittish when they see humans, but also fascinating to watch as they eat and jump from tree to tree.

This is Mared and I in the forest on a walk before she left. We got up at 6 am and went to one of the oxbow lakes to see birds. We ended up seeing an African Jimajine, African Cookoo Hawk, a Malacite Kingfisher, as well as many others! Very fun.
