News from Kisampa:
Let's see! It has been awhile since I last updated my blog, so I will try to tell you the highlights of what has happened so far in October.
- I got to drive the VW beetle again, on Sarah's 8th birthday. Sarah's birthday was a lot of fun, we did presents in the morning, and then went for a drive in the VW. In the afternoon, we had cake and went to the river to cook sausages and celebrate! It was a fun day, but the river has gone down so much its scary!
- I have been in the village a couple of times. I got 2 African dresses made for me. I went to a local shop and picked out 2 different fabrics, then had Nema, the dress-maker take my measurements. I am pretty sure she wrote them down wrong because when I went back to get the dresses they were made for a child! I couldn't even get them over my head. It was so funny, Nema trying to yank the dress off of me, and of course I am only in a bra and my underwear. We were both laughing very hard, and I don't think she had ever seen a muzungu half naked! It was very funny.
- The other highlight would have to be another trip to the river, when Sarah, James, and I made a mudbath! I was VERY muddy, covered from head to toe! We pretended to be hippos and it was a beautiful day and a lot of fun.
I will write more later but am currently about to start school! I will update more tomorrow.
